We flew Air France because they fly to both Buenos Aires and Santiago.
In BA we met Daniel Olmedo, the lawyer I had worked with 40 years previously before joining the cruise ship in Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego.
The weather allowed me to land on Horn Island, and enabled the ship to actually round the Horn and come up the west side – which apparently is fairly rare.
The rest of the trip involved journeys through the channels of Tierra del Fuego to Punta Arenas
The next segment involved a day visit to the Torres del Paine national park followed by a day trip on w working roro vessel through the Patagonnian channels to Purto Montt.
After flying to Santiago we were escorted on visits to Valparaiso and Colchagua Valley where we visited 2 wineries.
Air France were on strike, so we were transferred to a Lan Chile flight via Madrid. The service was at least equal to that provided by Air France.
